The Birth of a Company

After years of travel and national conference attendance,  our founders began to notice that a significant disparity in plan quality existed in the field of radiation planning. 

To test their observation, our founders began to hit the road and take extracurricular locum dosimetry work in addition to their busy large-institution planning jobs.  This presented the opportunity to receive feedback and work with dosimetrists of different backgrounds nationwide.

What they found was that many tips, tricks, techniques, and results varied greatly across the field.  This depended on a number of factors such as resources, location, budget, and continuing education.  Simply, some professionals in this career do not get the same opportunities to travel to conferences or explore their latest planning idea.

They were fortunate to meet many wonderful people who expressed excitement in learning creative new ideas and testing their current standards.  A need for this exists as treatment planning continues to change and evolve with each passing year.

Our founders rolled up their sleeves and decided to do something about it.  In April of 2016, North Central Dosimetry Services LLC was born in Hilliard, Ohio.  The "North" and "Central" regions in the name represented the areas of Ohio where they were able to tailor their craft and grow.

North Central Dosimetry Services (NCDS) has now spread throughout the Midwest and continues to seek partners nationally.  From vacation coverage and on-site staffing to permanent remote planning roles and plan consulting, NCDS strives to be at the forefront of your dosimetric needs.

The company's mission has been to spread knowledge in the field of dosimetry, offer highly-skilled planning resources, and ultimately, produce optimal patient outcomes.
